Teaching isn’t a performance. It’s a practice
The most impactful teachers aren’t performing. They’re modeling presence, honesty, and integration.
Meet Your Teacher
JoAnn Drasdis
JoAnn Drasdis is the founder and heart behind JD Yoga—a space where movement becomes medicine and spiritual healing meets embodied practice. With over 18 years of teaching experience, she blends yoga, Qi Gong, meditation, and energy awareness to help students regulate their nervous systems, deepen their intuition, and return to their power.
Her offerings—whether in weekly classes, immersive retreats, or her signature 12-month teacher training—are trauma-informed, spiritually rooted, and designed to support growth beyond the mat. She teaches from lived experience, honoring the body as a portal to presence, healing, and joy.
A natural storyteller and artist, JoAnn transforms decades of poetry into music through her debut album Songs from Silence, blending lyrical vulnerability with cinematic soundscapes. She is also the author of 52 Weeks to a Meditation Practice and the forthcoming memoir From Shadow to Portal.
Through JD Yoga and The Embodied Yogi School, JoAnn invites others to explore embodiment as a path to personal and collective transformation.
